Today we traveled to Fatehpur Sikri, a palace in the middle of nowhere. It was built in the 1500's but only used as a palace for twelve years before it was abandoned due to lack of water. Next to the palace was a large mosque where the holy men lived. The palace was built for the Mughal emperor Akbar who, like most of the Maharaja's we've heard about, had many wives. Akbar covered his bases by having a Hindu wife, a Muslim wife, a Christian wife, etc.

Fatehpur Sikri
A few pictures from around the hotel: our unusually tall waiter, trying to balance pots on my head, and the lovely lady who sweeps the stairs at the hotel.
